Poem

Manzana Sagrada

A tree and the apple
A sacred gift
Falls softly into
Four hands
Praying, pleading, thanking.
A thousand rejoicing lips
Two thousand bent knees
One flight
One night of strength and weakness
And one new soul
With cheeks as pink as God's fruit
One moment to bathe
Eyes closed, in the warmth of heaven
Shining through the open window
Of her eyes.

aloha

Anna's sister Neha (who lives in Hawaii) sent Asha and Kalena a couple
of 'aloha dresses.' Her only request: we take a picture of the two girls
wearing them so she could photoshop them into the same picture.

I hope she has them lying together on the beach of the big island!

Happy Memorial Day

We got together with some great friends in the ward.
(sorry they are not featured, this camera just knows one face nowadays)
We had delicious shish kabobs

This little party animal was showing everyone
how tall she is.
She really loves a good holiday bbq!

A sweet visit and the Champions League Final

Mike and Chelsea Strayer:
amazing couple Jon and I met while living in Provo.

Visiting from Charm City, aka Baltimore.

Turns out Chelsea was Ashley's roommate in college. Seriously.
She almost passed out when she learned our connection!

Another sweet connection:
Chelsea knows Cherie Farnes through their
experiences in Ghana!
We had to skype.
Asha is officially Barcelona's lucky charm.
She watches a game wearing her Messi onsie - they win.
It's that simple.
I wonder how many pictures we're going to have
like this one by the time she is 2?
Happy futboling y'all.

2 months

I can't seem to get this done on her month mark.
This should have been posted May 15th ... oh well, better late than never!
Does it look like she's about to start an Irish jig?She had her 2 (ish) month checkup.
11 lbs
23 inches
Jon and I were the ridiculous doting parents.
Every time the pediatrician noted anything
we would follow it up with
"Isn't she wonderful?!"
boo
Guess which auntie sent her this?

I know that every parent thinks their child
is the cutest thing
that has ever graced Mother Earth ... and now I know why!

We just adore this kid.
